First Visit Expectations

We know that first visits to any doctor’s office can be stressful and intimidating. Not only is your physical comfort important to us, your emotional well-being is too. We try our very best to make your experience here a pleasant one.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT DURING YOUR INITIAL VISIT WITH US

During your first visit, we will get to know you by asking some questions about your medical and oral health history. Please bring a list of any medications you may be taking, their dosages, and include all vitamins and over-the-counter supplements.

Next, we will perform a comprehensive oral exam that includes an oral cancer screening, a periodontal evaluation, we will chart all existing dental work you have and take any xrays that are needed. We will then do a 3D scan of your teeth with our ITero digital scanner. If no signs of periodontal disease are present, you will have a routine dental cleaning.

Once your exam is completed by one of our wonderful registered dental hygienists, Dr. Nelson will review her findings with you. With you, she will create a treatment plan that reflects your wants and needs while giving you a functional, healthy smile.

We participate with several dental benefit companies here at Dr. Nelson’s office. We try very hard to provide you with the finest care while giving you convenient financial options. We accept several major credit cards, checks, cash, and financing through CareCredit.
